We did the tour and it was ok. This place doesn’t have the graffiti like in Forteleza but the ocean and canals and inland waterways are so polluted it was disgusting. There is scum and debris floating everywhere in the water and it stinks. What’s worse is they are swimming and fishing in that filth! After doing the catamaran we went to the market that used to be a prison. No air conditioning here in most places and the old prison where the stalls are the old jail cells was no exception. It was over 100 degrees here today and the humidity was really high. It did rain a bit this afternoon but not for long. When we got back, we went to get some lunch and then got in the pool to cool off. Came back to the cabin to shower and get ready for dinner. We are exhausted as we didn’t sleep well last night and I’m not used to the sun coming up at 5 in the morning. I’m sure we will be in bed early tonight.
