February 19, Wednesday. Montevideo, Uruguay which I have spelled wrong in the past. We did not have a tour here but awoke to horrible vibration when we were docking. There is a lot of vibration in this cabin since we are at the back of the ship. Anyway we got up and got dressed and headed to breakfast with Deb. Karen & Kay have a Gaucho tour today with the ship so we will see them at dinner. We took a shuttle into town to a leather factory which is the big “bargain” here. It wasn’t at the store where they dropped us but down the street we found a nice store and helpful people. Nice stuff for the money. We then walked to the “Mercado” and went through the vendors and shopped some more but it was getting so hot you can hardly stand it so we stopped at a restaurant for a “Coke Zero” which are all served in bottles not cans everywhere down here. Then we walked through the rest of the shops and up another street and bought some wine and then walked back to the ship. Can’t get enough to drink today so since we’ve been back I’ve had two glasses of lemonade, two of tea and one water and I’m still thirsty—it feels like its 900 degrees here. We checked on our reservations in the “pay” dining for Sunday and made another one for next week. We sail at 5 today and Debbie and I are going to book our final tour for the day we get off in Santiago which will be an all day tour then they will drop us at the airport for our flight back to reality. Looking forward to tomorrow being a sea day since we need to do some laundry and they have been closed since we got to Buenos Aires because they don’t want us polluting their already polluted water—I would have thought the soap suds would help clean up their mess—sarcastic huh? Anyway, last night we went to the casino then to the show which was a guy who balanced stuff on his head—he was very good. The shows have all been good. Tonight we are doing Trivia after dinner and then a ventriloquist show. So until the laundry is done…adios amigos!
